When an absence is due to long term sickness, parents may wish to contact their child’s teacher to discuss activities that could be completed at home
Mindarie Primary School has established several annual events that the children really look forward to. These include:
- ANZAC Assembly
- Faction Sports Carnival
- Book Week (including Book Parade)
- Annual Book Awards assembly
- Year 6 graduation ceremonies, lunch and disco.
All the students throughout the school are involved in these events. We encourage all parents to participate.
Due to issues related to supervision of students, parents are advised that students should not arrive at school before 8.30 am.
Assemblies are held at 8.50 am on Thursday mornings once per fortnight. The dates of assemblies are published in the Newsletter and in Term Calendars. During each assembly, class items, displays, reports, plays and musical items are presented. Achievement certificates are awarded to various children for their efforts or contributions in class. All parents and friends are welcome to attend.
Children who ride bicycles and scooter to school are reminded to always wear a helmet and observe safety riding rules. The P & C and school fully support the Police Service of WA recommendation that children under the age of 10 years should not ride bicycles or scooters to school unless accompanied by an adult. By law, children are to wear bicycle helmets. The school does not encourage the use of roller blades and roller skates as a means of going to and from school.
All bikes and scooters should be locked securely in the racks provided. Bicycles and scooters must be wheeled into and out of the school grounds.
